Parent Mentor Program

The Parent Mentor Program empowers parents while connecting them with their children's school community. Managed by the Parent Engagement Institute (a partnership between the Logan Square Neighborhood Association and the Southwest Organizing Project), parents are placed in their child's school assisting a teacher 3 days per week and attend a weekly workshop designed around personal and professional development. Parents volunteer at least 100 hours of service between October and February to complete the program. District 68 has hosted the Parent Mentor Program since 2013 with 8 successful cohorts totaling over 100 Mentors and Coordinators and providing over 10,000 hours of service in our schools!
