The Skokie School District 68 School Board Nominating Committee has endorsed the following candidates for the April 7, 2009 Consolidated Election:

 

Four Year Terms (2009-2013)

 

Amy Anson – Amy has been a resident of District 68 since 1998.  She is self-employed as a clinical psychologist and also teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University.  Amy and her husband have a daughter at Niles North High School and a daughter at Devonshire Elementary School. 

 

David BellerDave has been a resident of District 68 since 1983, and has served on the District 68 Board of Education since 2001, with two years as Board President from 2005-2007.  Dave is retired, having spent 30 years in the advertising business.  He and his wife have three children, two of whom were students at Jane Stenson Elementary School and Old Orchard Junior High. 

 

Una McGeoughUna has been a resident of District 68 since 2002, and has served on the District 68 Board of Education since June, 2008.  She has worked as an environmental consultant for various organizations and is currently serving as adjunct faculty at Ellis College in Chicago.  Una and her husband have three sons at Highland Elementary School.

 

Hank Schneider – Hank has been a resident of District 68 since 1992 and has served on the District 68 Board of Education since 2007.  He is currently the Vice-President of the Board.  Hank is a social worker and is the Clinical Coordinator in the Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Evanston Hospital.  He and his wife have a daughter at Niles North High School and a son at Old Orchard Junior High. 

 

 

Ballot petition forms for the April 7, 2009 school board election in Skokie School District 68 are now available.  Forms may be picked up at the Educational Service Center, 9440 Kenton Avenue, Skokie in the office of the superintendent on any business day between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  The first day that ballot petitions may be circulated is Tuesday, October 28, 2008.

 

A school board candidate’s ballot petition must be filed in the same office no earlier than 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 and no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2009.  Candidates’ names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which completed petitions are received.
