Dear Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the teachers and staff of Skokie School District 68, welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!
 

Our team is energized and ready to welcome students into learning environments that are both inviting and modernized. This summer, we completed a five-year, district-wide remodeling project that included upgrades to school interiors, lighting, flooring, casework, and mechanical systems. Classroom furniture is being refreshed as well, with more enhancements planned each year. Each elementary school now has upgraded heating and cooling systems—including geothermal at two campuses—supporting both sustainability and cost savings. Construction is also underway on our new Early Childhood Center, scheduled to open in fall 2026. These community investments reflect our ongoing commitment to providing students with the best possible resources and learning experiences.

As I begin my second year as Superintendent, I am grateful for the opportunity to focus on building partnerships with our students, families, and community. 

Over the past year and throughout the summer, we have focused on strengthening engagement, and I am excited to share a few outcomes and opportunities:

So far, 58% of Skokie 68 families have already registered with our new communication platform—ParentSquare! From now on, you’ll receive district, school, and classroom updates in one place, easily accessible from your phone or computer. Log in with your email or phone number and visit here to learn more.

NEW Website

Our new district website launches today! It’s designed to make important information easier to find while highlighting the achievements of our students, staff, and schools. We invite you to explore the new features and appreciate your patience as we continue adding final updates.

Student & Parent/Guardian Handbook (2025–2026)
The updated handbook includes key policies, procedures, and important dates. Please take time to review it with your student(s) to support a successful school year.

Skokie 68 Family Directory (Permission Form Coming Soon)
This year, families may choose to be included in a new Family Directory. The directory will list each student’s name, homeroom, and parent/guardian contact information (name and email from registration records). If you’d like your family included, please complete the Permission Form.

Year-at-a-Glance Calendar (2025–2026)
The one-page calendar is available under Popular Links on our website. Use it to plan around attendance days, holidays, and breaks. Thank you for helping support strong, consistent attendance—it truly impacts student success.

Looking Ahead

• New, updated graphic designs for each school logo are coming soon!
• This fall, we will begin our district-wide multi-year Strategic Planning process, with many opportunities for families and community members to get involved.
• September 2: Elementary Open House (6:00–7:30 p.m.)
• September 3: Old Orchard Open House (6:00–7:30 p.m.)
