The Personnel Department is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and assignment of all employees of the District. Additionally, the department is responsible for attendance, certification, employee benefits including insurance, salary schedules, substitutes, and pension including TRS and IMRF.
The District employs approximately 285 individuals: approximately 170 licensed personnel, 100 support personnel, and 11 administrators.

Public Act 96-0266 Licensed (Administrator/Teacher) Compensation Report
Section 10-20.47 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/10-20.47] requires Illinois school districts to report administrator and teacher salary and benefits to the Illinois State Board of Education. The Illinois School Code states that each school board shall report to the State Board of Education, on or before October 1st of each year, the base salary and benefits of the district superintendent [or the general superintendent of schools or chief executive officer] and all administrators and teachers employed by the school district. The Illinois School Code requires that the salary compensation report include, without limitation, the certificated individual’s base salary, bonuses, pension contributions, vacation days, sick days, and the cost of health insurance and life insurance (included in compensation report as “Other Benefits”).- Compensation Report - Administrators/Teachers 2024-2025

Public Act 97-0609 IMRF Compensation Report
Pursuant to Section 7.3 of the Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/7.3), an employer participating in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, within 6 business days after approving its budget, must post on its website the total compensation package for each employee having a total compensation package that exceeds $75,000 per year. -
The Transparency in Coverage Final Rule requires insurers and group health plans to publish machine-readable files starting July 1, 2022. The files contain in-network rates and out-of-network allowed amounts.
HMO plans do not require any action at this time, as they fall under the fully insured category. BCBSIL will host machine-readable files for fully insured benefits via a link on bcbsil.com.
BCBSIL will updated these Machine Readable Files on a monthly basis. The link above only needs to be placed on the public webpage one time.

Faith’s Law
Illinois law (105 ILCS 5/22-94) requires that school districts conduct a sexual misconduct background check on new hires. The District uses a third party, Verifent, to conduct this background check.
Employees are required to provide the names, contact information, and other relevant information related to their current/former employer(s).
To request an Experience Verification from your Former Employers, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Hiring Entity
1. Visit www.verifent.com. Click ‘Get Started.’
2. Click ‘Login.’
a. If you do not have login credentials, please click ‘Register’. You will need to create an account.
3. Click ‘Request EV’ and begin typing SKOKIE SCHOOL DISTRICT 68 - IL
4. Click ‘Save Hiring Entity’, then click “Continue.”
Step 2: Enter Your Information
1. Enter your information and click ‘Next.’
Step 3: Choose Your Forms
1. Click the check box next to the verification(s) you need to request:
a. Faith’s Law Employment History Review (EHR)
b. Certified Experience (only for Licensed Staff and Administrators)
2. Click ‘Next.’
Step 4: Former Employer(s)
1. Click ‘Choose Former Employer(s).’
2. Enter ALL the Former Employer(s) you need an Experience Verification from.
a. If your Former Employer(s) does not drop down as you search, type and
click ‘Former Employer Not Found.’
b. Enter the information requested and click ‘Add Former Employer.’
**Note: Multiple Former Employers can be selected/added**
3. Select your ‘Most Recent Employer’ and click ‘Next.’
Step 5: Authorization
1. Sign your name, type your name, and click ‘I Agree – Continue.’
2. Review the request summary and click ‘Next.’
Verifent will notify you of the progress of your requests through email. If you have any questions, please contact the Support Team at support@verifent.com. There is NO COST to use Verifent and no need to purchase any upgrades unless you choose to.

Employment Verification
We are dedicated to protecting our employees’ information. For this reason, we use Verifent to confirm verification of employment and/or verification of income (VOE/VOI) requests are legitimate, and a valid permissible purpose exists as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Verifiers seeking employment and/or income information for a Skokie School District 68 employee must submit VOE/VOI requests through Verifent.
