LAST DAY OF SCHOOL WILL BE JUNE 8TH

The last day of school will most likely be June 8, not June 5, due to a snow day that was used earlier in the school year. Because that day was missed, it has been added back to the calendar to ensure all required instructional time is completed. We say "most likely" because if any additional school days are canceled for weather or other reasons, those days will be made up at the end of the year. This means the final day of school could be pushed back even further if more days off occur.

Mission Moment

A woman in a suit speaks into a microphone in front of a projector screen displaying "Hello, Highland Hawks!"

New Principal Visit!

Highland's future Principal, Mrs. Atto, came to introduce herself and spend the day meeting our students.
A teacher presents a quiz titled 'Who Knows Mrs. Atto Best?' to an engaged audience of children.

Meet the Principal!

Mrs. Atto played a question and answer game of "Who knows Mrs. Atto Best"!!

MEET THE AUTHOR EVENT!

We are excited to invite families to a special Author Event in our school library on Wednesday, April 15 (6:30 - 8:00pm)

Join us for an engaging session where students and families can meet a featured author, hear a live reading, and learn about the writing process.

Come celebrate the joy of ready and storytelling together. We hope to see you there!!

Know any Future Hawks?

Registration is open for Kindergarten for the 26-27 school year. If you have any neighbors with children who will be 5 before September 1, please encourage them to register asap.

Health Clerk Correction

Last week we introduced you to our new health clerk. Unfortunately over Spring Break she decided not to take the job after all so we currently have a vacancy in the health office. Please address any health related concerns to Dr. Bradley or Mrs. Christiansen until we are able to hire someone new. Thank you for your understanding.

ATTENTION: 5th GRADE PARENTS:

MEMORY BOOK

The committee is working on putting together the 5th grade memory book, and needs your photos!

We are looking for the following photos:

1) A baby picture of your child, as well as one from Kindergarten/early childhood.

2) Photos of your kid's e-learning setup from Kindergarten (though we may have tried to erase those from our memories...)

3) Photos from school related events or outside of school photos of your kids with their school friends (maybe from birthday parties, sports, etc)

All photos can be sent to highlandmemory26@gmail.com

Thank You!

HIGHLAND SILENT AUTION!

Highlandpalooza Silent Auction
The PTA is planning our annual Highlandpalooza fundraiser on Saturday, May 16, 2026, and we are seeking prizes and donations for the silent auction, which is critical to the event’s success.

What is Highlandpalooza?
Highlandpalooza is the PTA’s annual family fun fest and it’s our largest fundraiser of the year! The PTA hosts events such as Trunk-or-Treat, Hot Chocolate Family Fun Run, the Winter Wonderland Dance, and more! The PTA also funds memory books for 5th graders, Highland t-shirts for our Kindergarten students, and several teacher appreciation events throughout the year. The more money we raise, the more we can do for the students, teachers and families of Highland!

What is the Silent Auction?
In conjunction with Highlandpalooza, the PTA runs a silent auction, where families can bid on items to win, with all proceeds going to the Highland PTA. The silent auction is run online, and will open a few days before Highlandpalooza, culminating with a final chance to bid throughout the day of Highlandpalooza on May 17th.

What is needed for the Silent Auction?
We seek donations of items for the auction such as gift certificates, gift baskets, services (spa, handyman, etc.), new household items, event tickets, etc. Do you have a service to offer? Do you own a business, or know someone who does, and can offer a gift certificate? Did you receive a household gift that you never opened and won’t be using? Think about donating to our silent auction! If you, or someone you know, would like to donate to the silent auction please reach out to highlandpalooza68@gmail.com before May 1, 2026.

HIGHLANDPALOOZA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

FREE/DISCOUNTED ADMISSION TO HIGHLANDPALOOZA FOR VOLUNTEERS!!

Without volunteers, HIGHLANDPALOOZA will be cancelled for this year. Volunteer now to prevent that from happening.

The Highlandpalooza planning committee is still in need of volunteers to get started. We are offering free admission (a $20 value) to any family with a parent that signs up to be on a planning committee.

If you are intrigued but not sure what exactly this entails, please REACH OUT and we can answer any questions you have.

We are also offering $10 off admission for any family where a parent commits to volunteer for an hour on the day of Highlandpalooza
(May 16th).

IF WE DO NOT GET ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS FOR HIGHLANDPALOOZA BY MARCH 27TH, THIS BELOVED EVENT WILL HAVE TO BE CANCELLED.
