Curriculum Objections

Curriculum Objections

Throughout the school year, Skokie School District 68 provides instruction aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards and Board Policy 6:60 – Curriculum Content. These standards ensure students experience a high-quality, well-rounded education across all subject areas.

At times, lessons may include topics that some families consider sensitive or controversial. Parents/guardians have the right to review instructional materials in accordance with Board Policy 7:15, Student and Family Privacy Rights, and in certain cases may choose to opt their child out.

If you would like more information or have concerns about specific topics, please contact your child’s teacher directly. After consulting with your child’s teacher, if you would like to view curricular materials, please complete the Skokie SD68 Request to Inspect Curriculum and/or Instructional Materials.

In certain cases, a parent/guardian may request that their child be exempt from using a particular instructional material or program by completing this Curriculum Objection Form: Parents/Guardians. Upon completion, an administrator will contact the parent/guardian to review the request.

All other persons with suggestions or complaints about curriculum, instructional materials, or programs may complete this Curriculum Objection Form: Employees and Community
