  • Saturday, May 16 - Highlandpalooza (1:00 - 4:00 pm).
  • Monday, May 18 - Kindergarten Information Night at Highland (6:00 - 7:00 pm).
  • Tuesday, May 19 - PTA Meeting at Highland (6:30 - 7:30 pm).
  • Thursday, May 21 - Board of Education Meeting at 9440 Kenton Ave. (7:00 - 9:30 pm).
  • Monday, May 25 - Memorial Day- NO SCHOOL.
  • Wednesday, May 27 - Eid al-Adha - NO SCHOOL.

Registration is open for Kindergarten for the 26-27 school year. If you have any neighbors with children who will be 5 before September 1, please encourage them to register asap.
 

DO YOU NEED BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL CARE?

REGISTRATION FOR SPACE PROGRAM 2026-2027 

Before and after care at Highland School is available through the SPACE Program. This program is administered by the Skokie Park District.

SPACE Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year will open on Wednesday, May 6th at Noon for all families. Registration moving forward will be taken via WebTrac. Please note, you will need to create a Skokie Park District Household to register. 


You will have until Friday, July 31st to submit your SPACE Registration. Any registrations made on/after Saturday, August 1st will be placed on a waitlist that will be assessed in late September. 

SPACE Information can always be found on our SPACE site. 

We will be using EPACT for our Child Information Forms and Sign Out for the next school year. More information to come on this.

PTA ELECTIONS AND LAST PTA MEETING OF THE YEAR!


Tuesday May 19th at 6:30 pm.
Babysitting will be provided for 3+ years of age.

Please join us for our last meeting of the year, where we will hold elections for next year's PTA roles. We will have elections for the following positions for next year:
-President
-Vice President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Fundraising Chair
- Restaurant Night Coordinator

WE NEED ROBUST PARENT PARTICIPATION TO PUT ON EVENTS AND MAKE OUR PTA A SUCCESS AND CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU. 

Have an idea for something the PTA could do for our students/teachers/community? LIke a past idea but think it can be done better? Volunteer for the PTA! Come to the meeting and share your ideas. 

We will also be setting our agenda for next school year- what events we will hold and what we plan to do to support Highland. Come out to have your voice heard!!

Skokie Public Library Connections


The BookMobile at Highland School

The BookMobile is at Payne Street and Keystone Avenue every Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Every Highland student has a Skokie Public Library barcode for book checkout in coordination with the school.

Skokie residents can get a library card on the bookmobile. The library also offers free WiFi outside the bookmobile while it is parked at each community stop. You can come on board and browse books.

Holds pickup is also available if you requested "bookmobile” when you placed the hold on the Skokie Public Library website.

The Skokie Public Library has these and other family-friendly events this spring.

Pokemon Club
Monday, May 18, from 4:30-5:45 pm
Share your love of Pokémon through card trading, games, and crafts. Bring your cards and any art or Pokémon memorabilia to share. We'll do different activities each month. 

The Pigeon Wants to Read!
Tuesday, May 19, from 4:30 to 5:15 pm
The Pigeon wants to read some books to you! Enjoy Mo Willems' Pigeon series with stories, literacy activities, a craft, and lots of fun.
