Principal's Message

Recess just got even more exciting with our new game, 9 Square Up In The Air! With room for many students to play at once, this fun addition creates more opportunities for positive student engagement, teamwork, and friendly competition. We’re excited to see students building connections, practicing good sportsmanship, and enjoying active play together!

Warm Regards,

Dr. Huemmer

October 30th: Halloween & Alternate Fall Activities

On Friday, October 30th, students should come to school dressed in school clothes. Students will change into their Halloween costumes prior to the parade. Please make sure that your child can independently put on their costume. Costumes that are NOT permitted are:

Violent themed costumes
Blood or bloody images
Masks
Weapon-like objects

The parade will begin at 1:45 p.m. and we will start by going outside the 1st and 2nd grade doors. We will walk on the path to Lyons. Walk from Lyons to Latrobe, then Latrobe to Church, then continue on the path in front of the school back to the 1st and 2nd grade doors. Feel free to choose a spot to watch anywhere along the parade route.

Classroom parties will take place immediately following the parade.

If you do not want your child to participate in the Halloween activities, please let your child’s teacher know. We have an alternate activity planned during this time.

Attendance Turkey Trot

We are hosting a grade level attendance competition for the month of November: Turkey Trot To Your Spot! The turkey will move faster around the course, the fewer the tardies to school! Grade levels will compete to have the fewest tardies to school. So be on time to reach the finish line to earn outside time with Leo!

Cold Weather Clothing

As colder weather arrives, please send your child with a warm coat, hat, and mittens each day. When snow is on the ground, students need snow boots and snow pants to play in the snow. We have outdoor recess when the temperature, including wind chill, is 15°F or higher and indoor recess when it falls below 15°F. If your family needs assistance with cold-weather clothing, please let your child’s teacher know. Thank you for helping our students stay warm and ready for recess!
